Order of the Comunero

-founded by American veterans of the Buenaventura's Wars > Buenaventuran War of Independence (1864-7) upon returning

-as part of widespread, national fascination in the North with it, associations even founded somewhat before it

-but membership only really boosted in its wake

-broadly founded on Masonic customs

-with the Order dubiously claiming to be descended directly from the old Spanish Comuneros

-in same fashion that Freemasons claim descent from Solomon's masons

-Comuneros wear distinctly purple uniforms

-with collapse of national institutions under American Presidents > 1865-1868 George Washington Woodward (People's) [impeached, removed from office] it becomes influential

-as paramilitary wing of Justice Party

-with members drilled with guns and the like

-often involved in chaotic street battles

-with outbreak of Liberty and Union War (1868-76) turns into founding element of Constitutional Government > Constitutional Army

-with its leaders given commissions in many cases

-and a great many soldiers joining and forming their own Comunero lodges

-Constitutional Government generally seeks to prevent Comuneros from becoming a deep state by sending in government officials to swear oaths to it

-with end of the war it booms further

-as veterans wish to continue camaraderie of war by being part of fraternal order

-order opens up to allow Roman Catholics in this era to be admitted without violating their religion

-becomes very politically powerful organization heavily associated with Justice Party and being a prop in its perpetual dominance

-becomes very tightly associated with the state when its head John A. Logan becomes president

-admits women from auxiliary group following women's suffrage

-becomes almost omnipresent across the nation and an important way for the state to dispense welfare

-within a voluntary organization

-with election of American Presidents > 1917-1923 Paul Drennan Cravath (Free Trade), state funding of voluntary orgs associated with parties stopped

-they now must be apolitical and unaffiliated with any party

-Comuneros split, but most of it separates from the Justice Party

-as it largely has to do with welfare dispensement at this point

-however smaller "Justice Comuneros" continue in alignment and built up

-in the end this strengthens the Comuneros and makes them more influential across the US as they're no longer so partisan
